When you say... ?
Transitional, what exactly do you mean? I've seen it used many times referring to dials?
I'm new to the world of older and vintage rolex and finding out the more I know, the less I know! How many years old does a Rolex, or any watch for that matter have to be to be considered vintage?

These transitional Rolexes deserve interest. They are the best of both worlds.
A vintage you can use as a modern, if you take care of it, and regularly check its water resistance. Yours has a warm patina which is very nice. Best, Nicolas

I will say....................
Trasitional is the matte dial with painted index's. Vintage Rolex have plastic crystal IMHO and the transitional sapphire is so close to vintage as you can get. In a few years they will be vingate too.
I would actually call the 168000 the true Transitional Sub not...
The 16800 but to each his own. Very nice Sub and big congrats! I also love the warm Patina as it sets watch apart.
