Patek Cubitus from Reddit
From a thread on Reddit, these are supposed to be the new watches:

The 5821/1A is nice in my opinion. Not very fond of two tone, and the 5822 looks a bit large for me. Still prefer my 5712 though.
If the Nautilus would not be there, I would find it interesting! But Nautilus IS there vor almost 50 years!

Observation of blue dial seconds hand
1) it is extremely thin
2) it is pointing exactly to 7 seconds

But first Nautilus is better, by far. And second, that's more laziness I can withstand.

...you cannot just take an already iconic watch design and change the case shape and call it a day. The good news for purchasers? It's so ugly that they won't sell very many, and they may rise in value in the decades to come based upon their rarity alone. If I owned Patek stock, this would be a 'Sell' moment for me.

Sorry, how is the new square Nautilus line, entry level at 40K - 90K?
Why was this line needed then? It has the bracelet and dial of the Nautilus. It has the official pricing of the Nautilus more or less. So?
What happened? Why not expand on the Nautilus line? Or the Gondolo? Or the Calatrava? Or ANYTHING else? Why was a square Nautilus needed?
Is the future of Patek merely an echo of past glory?
I wonder whether they lack imaginative designers or their designers were overruled. There are brands with much less reputation and resources who are producing more impressive designs today.

I concur with the poster, I like the 5821/1A variant! The green dial variant looks good in my eyes. Don't like the complex one though. Basically it looks like a modern version of the Nautilus in some ways. I agree that I like the 5712 more than this one though.

But the date models? Wow, they're simply terrible. I also read 45mm? Can Patek ever get proportions right nowadays? They keep releasing huge watches and discontinuing their best references. Not a fan of the direction of the brand.

I was checking the comments on many blogs and am not surprised by all the haters. I think ppl take it personal. Which I get. It’s like me listening to any Metallica album after the black album (they all suck). But I will reserve my judgement for when I see these watches in person. But I have to say the platinum version with the jumping date is going to be incredible.
I was also trying to think whether these will increase or decrease secondary market prices for other sports pateks. On one hand, if so many ppl hate these watches, others should jump in price. Especially if Patek decides to discontinue making any of the sports models in steel. But the more likely scenario is that all the sports watches will continue to be highly coveted and sell well over retail on the secondary market. Bc let’s be real, it’s nearly impossible to get what you want from an AD.
