The 2015 Lange collection at the Boutique Rue de la Paix

Good news! The 2015 collection is available at the Lange Boutique Rue de la Paix but for viewing only till next Saturday. Sadly, the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater was missing but I much prefer that Lange works on it to improve its sound quality. Anyway, I still had a lot of nice things to see again several months after the SIHH.

As you know, if we forget the MR, the 2015 collection can be described as a consolidation one:

- new redesign for the Saxonia collection
- new metal for the Datograph Up&Down
- the WG Datograph Perpetual is back
- and of course... a new movement for the Lange One which features an instantaneous date change at midnight accompanied with a very slight evolution of the dial and of the bezel.

I propose you to browse the pictures I took at the boutique:

Here is the watch which gains the most with the Saxonia redesign: the Dual Time. The new version is smaller with a more exciting dial. The brand name is written the same way than with the initial Saxonia.

Here is the movement of the Saxonia Automatic:

And the watch on the wrist. Once again, you notice the dial evolution like the figures inside the small second subdial:

The new Lange One, here in its platinum version. The thinner bezel makes the dial opening larger:

The new movement. There is a very easy way to recognize it: the regulating organ is located by the crown while it is opposite with the previous movement. Frankly speaking, I prefer the first movement even if the new one has a more clever lay-out and the instantaneous date system.

My fav version is without any doubt the PG one:

You can check that I actually took the pictures inside the boutique! I didn't propose you again the pictures of the SIHH! ;-)

An old favorite is back. The grey dial of the Datograph Perpetual is gorgeous. Time is coming to say goodbye to the roman numerals! The dial looks purer. I don't know which version I prefer. Both have their own charms.

Still the same eye-catching movement:

The contrast between the case and the dial makes the new Datograph Up & Down more daring. I prefer the platinum version but I was positively surprised by this new offer.

And of course, the feast for the eyes!

The last watch I saw was the lovely 35mm Saxonia. It is really an interesting watch. I'm happy to find again the movement used in my 36mm 1815. This size seems now dedicated to ladies or to men with small wrists. But believe me, this size is not shocking even with a larger wrist. Why? Because it is a simple and dressed watch. A very good surprise.

It doesn't look ridiculous on my wrist! I have to confess that I'm used to wear my 1815 so for me it was not a big change.

So if you are in Paris, don't miss the opportunity to see these watches at the Boutique Rue de la Paix. The staff will have the big pleasure to introduce them to you! But don't forget that Saturday will be the last day.

And... since we are very fortunate at Paris, they will go to Bucherer (between the 25th and the 29th of May). Double pleasure for the French fans of the brand!

Thanks for the great photos FX! Datograph movements are stunning. Lots to like here. The 35mm Saxonia is very intriguing and wears very well. Datograph up down does have great contrast. I don't know if I could choose between the PT and rose gold Lange 1. PT wins for cool. Rose gold is just beautiful.

I have to confess that I have a soft love for the PG version... I think that this material highlights the perfect design of the Lange One. Thanks! Fx

I remember this store vividly... I was walking past this boutique with suitcase and luggage en route to my hotel in Placé Vendome. I walked past the boutique every day during my stay at that hotel. Upon departing that hotel three nights later for Geneva, I was very happy to see that it h...

Yes, this 1815 Anniversary is a beautiful watch. And to be honest, I would have preferred to see it enter the permanent collection rather than being a LE. Fx

I think the movement to smaller diameters is a promising signal.

Hands on review of the 1815 200th anniversary F.A. Lange

In recent months, the black dials have done a strong comeback in the Lange & Shne collection: after the Lange One Tourbillon Handwerkskunst and the Langematik Perpetual in white gold, here is the 1815 "200th Anniversary F.A. Lange" which offers a dial of the same color. This watch available in the context of a limited edition that celebrates the two hundredth anniversary of the birth of Ferdinand Adolph Lange meets the expectation or at least the wish of many fans of the Manufacture who regretted the absence of a distinguished dial when compared with the silver dials of the gold 1815 of the permanent collection or with the rhodiumed dial of the first limited edition in Platinum. The solid silver black dial of this 1815 is a real success.
