Today was a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon at the historic Greystone Mansion for the 2104 Concours d' Elegance.  This is the 5th annual event at the Greystone Mansion and features a variety of vintage and classic cars.   This year the theme was celebrating the City of Beverly Hills Centennial, the 60th Anniversary of the Porsche Speedster, and the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang.

It was good to know that a portion of the ticket sales go back to the Friends of Greystone for their ongoing restoration and preservation of the Greystone Estate.  The grounds spans over 18 acres of land and the park grounds are open to the public.  The Greystone Mansion itself is 46000 square feet  and there are 55 rooms.  All around the grounds are panoramic views of Los Angeles.

The city of Beverly Hills maintains Greystone and for the event provided shuttles from the dedicated parking structure up to the Greystone Estate grounds.

We arrived during lunch time and this year the menu featured bbq.

IMO, the bbq baby back ribs and tri tip sliders were tasty and overall menu was significantly better than last year's event.

Refreshments was enjoyed by all the guests, it was a hot day so an ice cold glass of fresh brewed iced tea and pink lemonade were served.  There were several margarita stations featuring Asombroso Fine Tequila:

And a Stella Artois Cafe featuring Stella Artois and Stella Cidre.  Guests were given souvenir Stella Artois glasses which was a nice touch.

On the lower level area of the Greystone estates there were vintage cars from 1904

This was a new car brand that I've never heard of before.  The brands is Lucra Cars.  I spoke with one of the reps and she mentioned that Lucra is based here in Los Angeles and recently debuted their model LC470.  Powerplants come from either a Mercedes AMG 6.3 V8, or General Motors LS3, or LS7 7.0L engine.  The transmission is either a Mercedes 7 speed MCT paddle shift or Tremec 5 speed manual.  The body is made of carbon fiber.

Hornburg Jaguar featured the beautiful Jaguar F Type convertible.

Sweet treats from a local candy shop named Sugarfina.  They were very generous with their samples and my favorites were the Peach bellini gummies and the chocolate sea salt caramels.  Absolutely delicious and I'll definitely stop by their boutique to pick up some more candy.

Last year the front courtyard featured Porsche but this year it was Infinity.

Inside Greystone there we several vendors like this one that had some neat neon signs and other memorabilia.  For local L.A. residents, remember Bob's Big Boy?  And Colonel Sanders? none

BRM watches had a small booth and showcased their watches.

This was really cool, a slot car race track for the kids to play.  Even the adults were enjoying it and were racing too.

The city of Beverly Hills has been maintaining and restoring the Greystone Mansion and has done a great job.  Views of Los Angeles were beautiful today with the bright blue skies.

Hmmm, I would say Blue, then Red, the Silver. I would have preferred it in yellow. ;) Best, Nicolas

Why is that red car blocking the view of a 2CV Beachcomber? I vote for the Citroen! Cazalea

Nice post I enjoyed the pictures - thank you. Next to the silver grey Dino there appears to be a silver 250 SWB Ferrari. Do you have any pictures of that car? Best Edmond

Corvette Racing C7.R at the Grand Prix of Long Beach

Earlier this month I joined a large group of Corvette enthusiasts for the annual Grand Prix of Long Beach race to cheer on the Corvette Racing Team. I've been attending these races over the past few years when it was named the ALMS American LeMans Series. For this year, the race was the inaugural Tudor United Sports Car Championship. I found it interesting that this race series was a merger of the ALMS and the Rolex Sports Car Series, and Rolex has committed their Tudor watch brand to sponsor the racing series for 5 years.
