Bulgari’s Save the Children Ring Makes a Global Effort in Helping Children

What could be nobler than helping children secure a future of their own, one that’s full of hope and limitless possibilities? It is something that every child deserves to have but not every one will experience. Thanks to the efforts of Save the Children and Bulgari, many more will get the opportunity than would have otherwise been likely. They will get the chance to simply learn, something that many of us often take for granted. And in that experience, these under-privileged children will see themselves more capable of establishing a path for themselves more filled with prospect and hope.

The Gift of Education

I’ve always believed that education is one of the greatest gifts that a child can receive or a person of any age for that matter. It opens doors, unlocks potential and paves the way to futures that would otherwise be unimaginable. In the past few years Bulgari has devoted vast resources to a cause that barely a skeptic in the universe could find unworthy – investment in the youth of the future. Through the sales of their specially designed and created “Save the Children” ring, they will give a portion of the proceeds to help children all over the world.

In return, there is no doubt that Bulgari will receive countless happy smiles and proud cheers from the little faces of young ones in countries like China, Indonesia, India, Afghanistan, Uganda, Colombia and more. Perhaps in addition to those rewards will also be warm feelings within from having made a difference and a bit of marketing showiness but these are beside the main point. Children from underdeveloped parts of the world are benefiting in however small or big of a way and that is much more than most of us are even capable of.

The specially designed silver and ceramic ring that takes its inspiration from the Bulgari B.zero1 line is the second generation design that was uniquely created to benefit Save the Children. The first one was an all-silver ring that was released in 2009. The new B.zero1 version features a ring of black ceramic between two silver edges. The Save the Children logo can be found on the inside of the ring and the double BVLGARI logo is engraved into the side edges. Consumers can purchase the ring for $420 online or through Bulgari boutiques worldwide. $90 of the proceeds from each ring will be donated to Save the Children and used towards education efforts for children in over 20 countries.

Children from Yunnan Province, China photographed by Fabrizio Ferri

As of November of last year, Bulgari had surpassed its goal of raising $20 million for the Save the Children cause. The partnership between Bulgari and Save the Children has provided:

·        Educational assistance to more than 500,000 children worldwide

·        Training for more than 18,000 teachers through educational activities in more than 1,000 schools (many in conflict ridden areas)

·        Schooling for disabled children in rural areas of China and India who would normally been excluded.

·        Educational support for countries experiencing conflict such as the Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Southern Sudan where educational systems have been destroyed.

·        Improvement of educational opportunities for marginalized children in the urban megalopolises of Brazil and Mexico, where access to education offers concrete opportunities for the future of the children and their communities.

Aid for teachers and students in Yunnan Province, China

Countries that received aid include:  Albania, Afghanistan, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Indonesia, India, Italy, Mexico, Montenegro, Japan, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Southern Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda, the United Kingdom and the United States.

What $90 Can Pay For

·        Books for 18 children in Brazil

·        Establishment of a school library in India

·        Safe drinking water for 1 student and their family in Uganda

·        Training for 13 teachers in Indonesia

·        50 boxes of colored pencils for young migrant children in China

It is easy to get caught up in our own daily lives and overlook those who are less fortunate. Often the problems that are in existence in distant parts of the world are difficult to imagine and relate to.  But that doesn’t make them less real. Bulgari has made it easy for each person to contribute a small part. I certainly couldn’t turn down the chance and ordered a ring of my own with my most recent paycheck. It feels right and I look forward to sharing pictures once I’ve received it.

A Lesser Known Watch in the Bulgari Collection That Offers Greater Performance and Power - The Daniel Roth Tourbillon 8 Jours Looking over Bulgari’s current watch releases I noticed a watch that I recognized and remember seeing once before in a Basel highlighted photo. There wasn't an official press release for the watch or much talk or discussion pertaining to it. It seemed to have flown under the radar so to speak and stepped aside for other more popular models such as the Endurer Chronosprint and Grande ... .
