Following introductions by Thomas and Melvyn on Day 1 of IGOTT, Bulgari took the stage. Mr. Guido Terreni, Managing Director of the Bulgari Watch Business Unit, spoke about what Bulgari stands for in watchmaking, and how the Bulgari heritage influences their watch designs. Bulgari make pieces that are modern, individual and full of personality.

A highlight was the world premier of the Bulgari Grande Sonnerie Perpetual Calendar with master watchmaker, Pascal Legendre, demonstrating the intricacies of the movement and its construction.

The Endurer. Large (56x51x14.55) but curved case fits the wrist very comfortably and the dial has a delightful wave pattern. In all the Bulgari pieces I can see the design influence of a jewellery house. The finishing is excellent and a lot of thought has gone into ergonomics, smooth comfortable edges, alternating surface finishes, and the like. And inside, you have the pedigree of the Daniel Roth automatic Cal. 1306 with 12 hour monopusher flyback timer and Grand Date.

All Blacks dial is it multi-level or just matte/glossy? quite a cool piece, I always found the regular one weirdly situated between elegance and sport, but that one has CLEARLY chosen a side! a

One of the biggest surprises during IGOTT2 was the worldwide premier of the new Bulgari Daniel Roth Grande Sonnerie Perpetual Calendar. As Ping has mentioned earlier in her report ( please click here ) it was very exciting to hear about this announcement since we were both visiting Baselworld in April as guests of Bulgari and had seen it up close. However we could not post much information on this watch because the official announcement was scheduled for later this year.
