Friends,

I just received the initial news from Geneva.

Here is a short line up of some of the novelties this year, but I suspect there will be more!

none

I think no one will be surprised that the re-birth of the Laureato last year was not a one-time thing.

This year, Girard-Perregaux follows with four new models;

Laureato Tourbillon: the prestige of a Gold Bridge

Here two GP icons meet; The Laureato and the arrow shaped Golden Bridge!

Two versions; Pink Gold, Titanium/White Gold.

none

Laureato 42 mm: masculine elegance

Three dial versions; Silver, Grey, Blue.

Three case versions; Steel, Steel/Pink Gold, Pink Gold.

Black leather strap or matching bracelet.

none

Laureato 38 mm: the flexibility of an icon

Three dial versions; Silver, Grey, Blue.

Two case versions; Steel, Pink Gold.

Four bezel versions; Steel, Steel/diamonds, Pink gold, Pink Gold/diamonds.

Black or White leather strap or matching bracelet.

none

Laureato 34 mm: graceful femininity

Three dial versions; Silver, Grey, Blue.

Three case versions; Steel, Steel/Pink Gold, Pink Gold.

Three bezel versions; Steel/diamonds, Pink gold, Pink Gold/diamonds.

Matching leather strap or matching bracelet.

none

Now it will be very interesting to compare the Laureato 38mm and 42mm with last year’s 41mm version!

We already got the news about the WW.TC joining the GP 1966 collection.

1966 WW.TC (Pre-SIHH)

Two versions; Steel, Pink gold, 40mm case.

Leather strap or bracelet.

none

Now let’s look at the heavy weights!

none

Neo-Bridges: Gateway to the future

Here Girard-Perregaux mix two strong values: Tradition and Innovation.

none

PVD coated Neo-Bridges, Titanium 45mm case, Automatic movement.

none

Tri-Axial Planetarium: Dance of the cosmos

Pink Gold 48mm case.

none

Rotating globe with day/night indication

none

I will return with more details on these and hopefully, later this week, some live shots.

Best

Blomman

Please remove 'Automatic' from Laureato. Also the dial of Neo-Bridges is a bit confusing. Aris

Thanks Blomman for the first report I guess you will provide us with some personal impressions shortly. Overall, I think GP hit the nail on the head with the new Laureato collection. I like the fact that you have the choice of different sizes without needing to compromise. I also noticed th...

Throwback Thursday – 1957 Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic 39 Jewels

Friends, Time for me to show my last catch of 2016: The Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic 39 Jewels, reference 7317. To me this is the original Gyromatic 39 Jewels. The one used in all commercials from that time as “The first selfwinding watch with 39 Jewels and jewel roller bearings”! Notice the version featured in the red frame, that is the exact version as mine. Back in 1957, GP made a big number of the 39 Jewels movement and the 7317.
