Friends,

As mentioned I was travelling yesterday. Yes, you guess it, I had been “on the road” with my time machine again and took a quick trip back to the 1940s to pick up this wonderful Mimo Tank.

I love rectangular tank watches, so this one is a real treat.

Quite small by today’s standards but I can confirm in the 40s it was right in fashion.

Case is 29x22 but it wears bigger than that.

The case and the dial are not curved, but there is a slightly domed crystal. A great detail that is impossible to show in a two-dimensional photo.

The Label reads “24545” and the Price shown was “39,60”. Don’t remember the currency as I paid with my good name.

What a great time capsule to bring back to 2018!

Best,

CC

Oh, I need to watch out then to make sure I'm always a step ahead of the competition :) Thanks Alkiro. Those little marvels in that condition are a must-pickup.

You know, I mainly track one Mimo (a salmon dial one with a big date) 😉 I suppose you already saw that yours is not alone. The seller has few others 😊 Best wishes Alkiro

Friends, I have here and there shown a bit of my 1990s Girard-Perregaux rectangular watches that are time-only. It is time to provide an overview of all the rectangular time-only GPs from the 1990s that had a manual wind movement. If I would include the automatic movements, I would had to expand quite a bit more towards the rectangular Richeville models or the later automatic Vintage 45, but here let’s stay with the manual wind versions. From my records, I’m aware of 4 different references that fall into ...
