Looks like this is a week of Eterna on HoMe
www.watchprosite.com
Brand was founded in 1856 in Gretchen by Dr. Josef Girard (you can't escape Girard even without Perregaux)
and school teacher Urs Schild.
And as their today motto says
"Build on tradition, driven by innovation, inspired by emotions"
Eterna revolutionized automatic movements in 1948 by invention of the Eterna-Matic ball-bearing
mounted rotor system. The 5 sphere rotor reduced friction and became the pinnacle of automatic movement design.
And as we all know there would be no ETA without Eterna.
Now this piece is from 1970ies
Caliber inside is 1488K
back is plain and simple
but profile is charged with charm
superb cushion shaped case...smooth under but brushed above... no sharp edges...with quite thin profile for that time
and some amazing doomed plexi
and yes ...that's correct crown...any other here would be sacrilege...one of coolest crowns for me...bearing the ball-bearing
cult Eterna logo depicting
their game changer of industry
And as Eterna ads from 1970ies for that model stated
"Futuristic elegance"
and
"Sculptured to match tomorrow"
Yes that's one happy green frog and some lint
Eterna brand we should definitely speak about more often
Have a great weekend friends
Cheers
