SalonQP 2014: a portraits gallery

The SalonQP 2014 has just closed its doors and once again, it was a very successful event thanks to the balanced mix between large and small brands, known and unknown companies. But more than the watches, the Salon gives the opportunity to meet and discuss with a lot of independent watchmakers. The AHCI and more generaly the independent brands represented a large share of the exhibitors for the deepest pleasure of the visitors. I should not forget the large brands like JLC or Chopard which also contributed a lot to this success. Let's take an example: JLC set up a sound lab which allowed to the guests to understand better the world of striking watches. A very impressive booth!

As usual, I propose you my gallery of pictures taken during the 3 days of the Salon.

I would like to thank a lot all the watchmakers and the teams of the brands for their availability and kindness.

Thank you for sharing these photos! It is great to see the faces with the names. Some of the folks I have met, many I have not. And good to see your smiling face there too!

Do I believe a 2nd hand salesman?

Dear forumners, I had an interesting experience last weekend after visiting a watch exhibition in a major European city. Wandering around the shopping haunts and emporiums, I stumbled upon a 2nd hand dealer of watches. There was a minor complication watch model that I had rejected years ago in the window and looking good to the naked eye. During my inspection, I raised the watch to my good ear and shook the watch that was grasped in my hand and using only my wrist action.
