Jaeger Lecoultre SIHH 2015: Master Ultra Thin Calendar.

For those who found that the MUT Moon 39 dial was a bit empty, the new Master Ultra Thin Calendar is a pleasant alternative.

Same 39 mm case,  9, 9 mm high, exactly like the MUT Moon 39 ( which is, once again, not ultra thin at all ), but not less elegant.

The automatic movement is the Cal 891/2-448 which beats at 28 800 vibrations per hour, offers an autonomy of 38 hours ( a tad short, though ) , and made of 275 pièces.

The case is in white gold. I am sure it would be interesting to have a steel version, with a black dial. But let's not spoil  our pleasure.

Indeed, we have a nicely profiled case, with a lot of class, and a superb dial, with a triple date configuration.

The treatment of the indexes and hands remind me the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual  Calendar decoration, in white gold.

One detail I would have liked to see: The date, in blue. It would have been nicer, I think.

Here are the live pictures:

A smart offer, between the MUT Moon 39 and the MUT Perpetual Calendar, don't you think so?

Best,

Nicolas

Yes, in steel, even better, I agree. As for the dial, it is not eggshell, but white. Thanks for your feedback, Penny! Nicolas

Indeed, quite interesting.. Q: what's the color of hour indices & hands- Black/dark grey ? .. Maybe also there, dark blue might have been nice, probably (?).. Other than that, yet another classic to fill the little gap, as mentioned by you .. Interesting to me, how LGM does some rejuvenation to the classics with the smaller & thinner cases.. Fi...

Thx- Yes, these grey ones are interesting..Guess,not impossible that a ss-Version pops up BTW: this black one/ teardrop of yours always amazes me, when shown : Lots of strong, but balanced appeal ! Designwise these were the hey-days of JLC with their Calendars, - a theme, that is redesigned & relived for quite some time now.. A nice sign of " ...

I like it Compared to the MUT Moon, this complication, especially the date is legible, and doesn't distract from the balance of the dial. I like it a lot...now, just to wait for the steel version...

An elegant offer. Now, I think many will desire the steel version, indeed.

Nice. But for me the best watch in this class is Blancpain complete calendar. The new system, correctors under the lugs, make it very appealing. Furthermore,, this Blancpain is one of the watches that started the renaissance of mechanical watches. Best, Kari

The dial of the Blancpain is a marvel of classicism. The case of the JLC is nicer, IMO.

Friends, We often talk about the complicated or the sports... But I would like to put a light on some of the core criterions of a modern wrist watch: Time, Date, Automatic, Water resistant, Shock resistant and Accuracy. This is what a big part of the watch buying customers wants. Yes, is this order, at least if you look at most of the big Manufactures and their main part of watch production each year.
