As announced, this year won't be the year of the Duometre. We'll have to wait till 2020, most probably, to see something new in this line dear to many of us.

Still, there are some offers, this year, which are worth some serious consideration.

I will arrive at the SIHH on Tuesday late afternoon, so the first live pictures will come on Wednesday morning.

To help you to wait, I will show you what I have, in this quick introduction of the 2019 Collection.

The first watch of the 2019 collection has been unveiled in December, the Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel.

Here you have a 39 mm big, 10, 04 mm high white gold case, with a guilloché blue enamel dial. The date is engraved, all around the moon phase.

The movement is the Cal 925/2, automatic, offering a power reserve of 70 hours.

none

100 pieces, numbered 1 of 100.

The second watch is the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel, 40 mm big, 12, 13 mm high, in white gold. Limited to 50 pieces, numbered xx / 50.

none

The Cal 978, automatic, has a power reserve of 48 hours, displays the hours, the minutes, the seconds, and a date surrounding the tourbillon which has a new bridge.

The dial has a guilloché blue enamel, just like the Master Ultra Thin Moon showed above, and the...

Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel: A white gold case, 39 mm big, 10, 44 high, water resistant to 50 meters.

none

The movement is the Calibre 868A/2, automatic, displaying the hours, minutes, seconds, day, date, month, years, and the moon phase. The power reserve is 70 hours.

The dial shares the same guilloché blue enamel than the two others mentioned above, and you will have certainly noticed that the moon phase location has changed, compared to the former Master Ultra Thin Perpetual 39. Indeed, it is now located at 6 o clock. While the sub dial of the months houses the years, now. The sub dials of the day, date and months receive a different guillché " clous de Paris " or " Hobnail ".

It is limited to 100 pieces, all numbered " 1 of 100 pieces ".

The Masterpiece of the collection, and most probably of the year, is the Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpétuel. Let's call it Gyrotourbillon 5, if you allow me this shorter way to name it.

none

The Gyrtourbillon 5 has an all new white gold 43, 6 mm x 14, 08 mm case water resistant to 30 meters.

none

A new case, and a new movement, the Cal 184, which associates a perpetual calendar which you can set backward and forward via a pusher between the lugs, at 12 o' clock, a Westminster minute repeater on 4 notes, Sol / Do / Ré / Mi, reproducing the Big Ben Melody, and, of course, a Gyrotourbillon  with a Constant Force. The power reserve is 52 hours.

Back and front side:

The level of finishings is at the level of the price...

There are two dial variations. A guilloché blue enamel, and a silver grained one. Both have the engraved date we see on the MUT Moon Enamel, Perpetual and Tourbillon.

A close up, to show the level of decoration and finishings...

Both versions are limited to 18 pieces.

I think you will have nothing against a video about that new masterpiece:

As for a more affordable novelty, we have the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds Burgundy Red. Exactly the same case than the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds Blue from past year ( 45, 6 x 27, 4 x 8, 5 mm ), same movement ( Cal 822/2 ), the only difference is a superb burgundy red dial.

none

Let's end with some offers for the ladies, with the Rendez-Vous Jewellery Night and Day and Moon Phase.

Both have the same case, 36 mm big, 9, 80 mm thick, in white gold or rose gold for the Night and Day, in white gold only for the moon phase. Both are 50 meters water resistant.

The dials are made of mother of pearl, with diamonds.

The Cal 898B/1 ( Night and Day ) and 925B/1 ( Moon Phase ) are both automatic, with an autonomy of 38 hours.

The Rendez-Vous Night and Day:

The Rendez-Vous Moon Phase:

This is all for the moment, but I may add one or two novelties during the fair, and some Iive pictures, so stay tuned!

Best,

Nicolas

There is a lot to say about this new Gyrotourbillon. I will make a trip to the Manufacture just to cover all its specificities. And there is a lot to say! As for the new Perpetual, I have to agree on the un-necessary wording. Still, I find it magnificent. Best, Mahesh. Nicolas

They put the bar very high, indeed. I can't wait to write an article on it. But it will take a lot of time, as there are so many things to say!

Box Play: LeCoultre Reference 3072

New year, same game – Box Play! This time it is the LeCoultre Memovox reference 3072. As far as I can remember, the 3072 were only made for the North America market. An odd-looking bird with oval case, cupola crowns, diamond shaped hands and rectangular marker on the seconds hand! Together with all these different shapes you have the round alarm disk and indexes. The different sized indexes are polished with a brush pattern and not angled in the same horizontal which gives a very strange perception of them ...
