With mblum, I think you are exactly right that the date window works better with this dial than the enamel. I'll give another reason: the enamel dial is smooth, clean, undifferentiated, with only painting on it... EXCEPT for the hole cut in it for the date. Whereas the guilloche dial is already giving you multiple textures and levels, so having another one, with the date window, is less jarring. ALSO the fact that that date window follows perfect the curved edge of the guilloche portion! I think on this dial the date window works, possibly even to the extent that I wouldn't want Breguet to remove it.
The enamel one, though? If they made an accessible no date version of that, line me up, I'll take it.
