Breguet

On the one hand, I can't help but think that this 5177 at 38.5mm with those long Breguet lugs is bigger than I want such a watch to be, and that something like this is at its best at 35 or 36mm (or even smaller) like some older Breguets. On the other hand...  

and 36mm might be a perfect size for this beautiful timepiece, but, as you say, this wide 38mm case and dial is really a pleasure to look at ! Enjoy !

38mm should be ok for many people but imo the lugs are not the best design element of Breguet, otherwise the case and the dial are sublime. Actually it might be the only reason I still haven’t got a Breguet. Ok the lugs were always like this and I underst... 

I don't know if we can expect them to keep those parts of the case while dropping the lug design... but you MIGHT imagine them shortening and angling the lugs a bit more on some of these

They might just shorten and angle the lugs as you said, I love the coin edge of Breguet cases, it is iconic and beautiful, I wouldn’t dream of hindering that part of the design for new lugs however I have every confidence in them to come up with a more fl...

The 5175 would sell like hot cakes if it were made in the other configurations like OP's but without the date. I can only imagine how fantastic it would be to have a clean, three-hand dress watch like this...

With mblum, I think you are exactly right that the date window works better with this dial than the enamel. I'll give another reason: the enamel dial is smooth, clean, undifferentiated, with only painting on it... EXCEPT for the hole cut in it for the dat... 

...they shaped it and designed the numbers to follow the shape.

Have own few piece of breguet watches with my 17 cm wrist i can wear it perfectly with thier tradition collection, lug a bit straight but not protruded off from the wrist.
