Advice needed - best black dial on the market?
Good day folks - after adding what I consider to be the best BLUE dial available (Eichi II) i’m now starting my quest for a nice deep inky BLACK. While there are many black dial watches, there’s few that offer what I’m looking for:
- deep rich black. Glossy is great, but no sunburst.
- 37-40mm diameter
- < 11mm height
- preferably small seconds and no date
- finishing over complications
- under EUR 50,000
I have looked at the Patek 5227 but the date put me off. Lange 1815 Chrono is nice but has a matte dial, same with JLC Duometre Chrono. Lange 1 Darth may fit the bill. Moser Vantablack is cool but I have a Moser and am looking for higher level of finishing. Any other options that I havent thought about?

Are you referring to a specific Moser model, or to the brand in general? I’m not sure one can really put all of them in the same bucket. Even with Patek, the level of movement finishing can vary quite a bit depending on the model.
I’m referring to the brand in general. Except for the minute repeater models, none of their watches have internal angles or otherwise anglage that is clearly applied by hand.
