Kelly vs.Birkin- food for thought
Hi Bernard, you likened some Pateks and Rolex to Birkins. Given the longer history of the Kelly Bag ( the late princess Grace Kelly was famously photographed and published on the cover of life magazine in 1956 hiding her pregnancy with a Kelly bag over her stomach ) , the elegance and grace of the late princess, the more sensible size of the Kellys ( who needs to lug around so many things ) is a better fit to some Rolex and Pateks. After all the Kelly bag is defined by woman of high stature , well bred women who come from money.
In contrast, the Birkin, is bigger, brash ( more lurid colours and exotic leathers are available ) . Shorter history than the Kelly. Since '84. More like MBF's , RM's ?
More brash, self assured even loud ? New money vs. old money ?
