I personally want to give a little credit here with some empathy. As someone who (like you) is very interested in watches, I have toyed with the idea of designing the perfect watch. I'm just saying, that Mr. Fleming's interpretation is darn good. And not only is it darn good, it's real. A lot of people play "Fantasy Football" and design their own team. Some of these people even do pretty well, meaning their fictional team would win a lot of games, based off of real-game statistics. BUT! This Mr. Fleming has taken it to the next level - he's a watch collector who has little to no formal experience in the industry, who has taken great financial risk in financing this project. And while we like his product or not - as someone who has toyed with the idea of doing my "perfect fantasy watch" I would say he did a darn good job! And I think he's one to keep an eye on for the future! That being said, I totally understand where you're coming from! But I think you're forgetting one part - the comparison to MG, LF, KV is not fair, those guys are real watch industry professionals. This is a collector who with no real watch industry experience designed his dream watch. And no, he didn't just go to major brand and choose some dial colors, and chose some specs and colors - like building your personal Rolls-Royce. He went and chose his own case maker, a movement maker, a dial maker, and more. That's like going to Ferrari for your engine, Graziano for your gearbox, having Pininfarina do your coachwork, and more. And that's something quite special!
