Few notes about new collection
Hi,
First at all it is very good step for IWC - go forward but don't forget about past.
Flieger is real homage to 30's pilot watches - dial, case, dimension - everything is great.
The same thing is with Portugieser - just like first model, or replica from early 90'.
Da Vinci - I fell spirit of 70' in new design of this IWC Icon - and I like it, especially confrontation
straight architecture edges of dial vs date window - date letters are like from future - great idea.
And what we have more - new Portofino. IMHO this is first really nice portofino - old model was
wooden - just like new Aquatimer - this watch is bland.

These watches are meant as complements rather than replacements. I do agree about the Da Vinci's shape but this is the shape of the original Da Vinci and is reflective of the era in which the original was conceived (not the greatest of times). - SJX

...But for one thing: the name of the company on the dial. I would have much preferred the old style one. Just to keep the connection with the original pieces. Of course this is my uneducated opinion. Massi
