Great homage to classics
Jia Xian, thanks for the update. I'm one of those who felt that IWC should have redo the brand logo in a stylised form and fully spelt out, like days of yore. That would've been perfect for these homage pieces. The favorite of the lot would be the Portofino for its hands and the moonphase. Although using the crown to maintain the accuracy of the moonphase may be more convenient, the use of a pusher would've complete the homage, as would using the Cal 95 as the base movement instead of the Cal 98 with a more decorated movement. But these are dreams and wishes of mine and I still laud IWC for bringing back the simplicity, romance and nostalgia of their classic pieces.

These watches are meant as complements rather than replacements. I do agree about the Da Vinci's shape but this is the shape of the original Da Vinci and is reflective of the era in which the original was conceived (not the greatest of times). - SJX
