I would not be ruprsed if a re-edition in some form and shape of the gephysic would soon surface to make us all happy. (I personally wish that it does not come in a MC case). looking forward to see what future brings us...

I think if they could take the excellent double-barrel movement from the 8-day movements and use it in the same way Journe does in the CS, two barrels for even power, not long running time, they could get Nico's 72 hours of runtime and not have to start f... 

Hi, Do we really need a 72 hours power reserve? As it is a manual wind watch, a serious user should wind it everyday, so do we really need more than the 38 hours of the Richard Lange? I'm not against 72 or 96 hours, or more, but a long power reserve is ge... 

72 hours of PR means it can be a "weekday" watch, that you needn't wind during the weekend. I think using the 2 barrels of the cal. 875, but geared for precision rather than 8 days, would give you a flat enough torque curve for 3 days A

Hi Nicolas, Thank you for your comments; I too don't think we'll see a re-edition for the Geophysic like it happened with the Polaris. Regarding a possible re-interpretation of the watch, as you know I disagree with your opinion. I don't see the Geophysic... 

The geophysic was originally designed for scientists, engineers, technicians. If this iconic watch comes back in the JLC collection, I would expect to see a "technical" watch with some of the latest enhancements successfully tested on the Extreme Lab, suc...

I was referring to Nico's post, and Jerome stated he did not see feasible a re-issued JLC Geophysic and or JLC Geomatic as one missed out a possible 50 th anniversary and the other was not planned or scheduled. Otherwise like you I would be delighted with... 

It has a see through back and is said to be anti magnetic? Same for some of the Sinn models. I suppose every watch is a little bit anti magnetic. Best, Starman

Hi, As we know that nicolas is wrong why should JLC make a Lange finish on this watch? They can make a nice finish, but if it is to make a Richard Lange copy (probably at a close price as a consequence of the finish), I doubt it would sell. And I personal... 

My opinion is also that a see through case back would be a non sense for the re-issue of a Geophysic line. And I agree with you that IWC delegitimated the name Ingenieur with the display back on the latest models. Now, let's consider a model with a differ...

That is an interesting point, my friend. I'm not sure at all that the Geomatic was antimagnetic. And even on the Geophysic, the " Deluxe " version, if I'm not wrong, didn't have a dust cover. I get your point, Tony. And you really make me think if, finall...

You are describing exactly the watch I am looking for. A year ago I set my hopes at the comeback of the wonderfull IWC Ingenieur, which I think is quite comparabel to the Geophysic don't you agree (and it was not only made for engineers, it was even named...

I have confirmation from a very reliable source that we will infact get a Geophysic in 2010! It will be the same concept, but brought up to date as far as size and technical improvements and specifications. Hope this juicy information helps! Cheers, Alex
