Why 72 hours?
Hi,
Do we really need a 72 hours power reserve?
As it is a manual wind watch, a serious user should wind it everyday, so do we really need more than the 38 hours of the Richard Lange? 
I'm not against 72 or 96 hours, or more, but a long power reserve is generally hard to combine with an extreme precision for reasons of torque.
What do we prefer?

72 hours is a usability thing
72 hours of PR means it can be a "weekday" watch, that you needn't wind during the weekend. I think using the 2 barrels of the cal. 875, but geared for precision rather than 8 days, would give you a flat enough torque curve for 3 days A
