This is a superb review. I have to say, my initial impression of the watch was not overwhelmingly positive. However, this one really does need to be seen in the flesh. It takes on a different persona in the flesh. Not only the colour of the dial but also the proportions and cohesion of the dial. I am now a fan.
I think the combination of world time and chrono is inspired. It conjures up an image of dynamism. The nature of the dial adds to that impression. I would say that this is a young guy's watch because of that.....again, the white metal adds to that feeling.
But what do i mean by young?

On another forum the poll was 80% in favour. I think PP is going the right way with 5524. 5930 and others. They won't always get it right but at least they exploring new options. I mean how many more tears do we need to guess whether Baselworld will bring...
I agree with you on the direction Patek are going.
For my tastes, as long as Patek keep making watches like the 5524, 5990, 5930 and 5230 I\'ll be happy.

These 2 have almost the same market value at the moment. And they are from around the same production year as well. Which one should I choose?

reference sings to you more ? Do you prefer 1) the chrono + worldtime or just worldtime function, 2) guilloche on 5930 or the sunburst guilloche on 5130 ? , and/or 3) dauphine hands or scissors hands ? Personally I enjoy the 5130G more because of its icon...
