The ascetics of this watch is great because it has been designed properly as you have described.
Furthermore, IMO 5930 is a reference that "makes sense" because the combination of the Worldtime function and chrono is logical. For example: A traveler might need to test measure his/her travel time between two upcoming meeting places in another city to ensure he/she can be on time. Additionally, a traveler might wish to measure the total travel time from the city of origin to the destination hotel (flight plus car ride thereafter).
Given the above, the issue for me is the 30 minute counter. You post explained why only 30 minutes was used. To me, it dilutes the reason why I think the combination "makes sense".
Overall, a good looking piece that should gain a fan base.
