Patek Philippe

I made the same observation and was explained it is not the same "stop" display

When I asked why it was so with the 28-520 caliber, I've been explained by Patek that the winding mechanism is not made of a crown+stem element that is linked with wheels and pinions to the barrel, added to a usual stopping display (thus the click when stopped in the notch).

It is made of a vertical display made of a disk and a kind of clamp than comes over it. I didn't understand it very well but instead of a notch, it uses a kind of friction mechanism (maybe like a clutch-like system).

It is a nice and unusual feeling for a winding system indeed smile

Cheers, Mark
