I think it can be easy to lack of consistency. In terms of themes choice and result, they managed to release a stunning collection.
I also like the 5230, especially since I saw it in the video I linked toward PP's site at the beggining of my post (even if processed I imagine). I think it may look gorgeous in the metal.
Exactly like you stated it: a modern Calatrava. I think that aside of a more traditional family they are trying to find a new unique Patek DNA for younger generations and a sportier offer. That's a tough work and we should give them a little time.
I think this 5522 perfectly puts it finally. That's why, as I said to Raymond, the 5524 will also be more and more appreciated. As you say, the size is a part of what some people want and they should be provided with something too as there is no real objective reason to remain below 40mm for all the collections.
