The prices of Patek's limited editions are never higher than the regular models and Patek never says it is more expensive because it is LE. It is totally different than saying we make LEs thus it will worth more so we decide to add a premium.
That's why LEs with Patek were never a problem for me. Furthermore, the LE pieces number should also be seen considering the demand size and production output. This makes Patek's LEs rare as we won't see them in the wild that much (except among owners circles).
A few of London's pieces were an exception as 5 pieces editions from older classics (3970, 5970, 5070 etc...). This prevented speculations as Patek took a significant part of the profit from the beginning. Hence, only real lovers would get them.
I must say I think that the standard 5230G and R look as good as this one, more classical but as exciting imho.

What I find interesting is that the 5230 NY is the same price, in dollars, as the 5230 that came out last year. I don't think Patek would have been criticized if it had charged a premium for that dial.
