Patek Philippe

lets wait until its seen live......

I think its coherent.......for me, it fits into your third category well.

We are going to differ on this...and it may take until the watch is released to evaluate it fully. Initially, you said that you didn't like its auto movement..... but its auto movement is a necessary feature given its 3-hand chrono nature. Moritz analyses it well. Yet, with an auto movement, would it have as much appeal if it had a modern-style dial? For me no.....and the reason I say that is that what I see Patek doing here is creating a purity of function that they have not really ever done before. Maybe I am wrong there, but I would like to see a vintage model that catches the chrono function more purely....so, in this sense, Patek are not delving into the past or re-hashing a vintage style. To me, this is unique...quirky......and to my eye, stunning. It sets about achieving something new....and it does it with some panache. This is not a standard take of a Chrono. With a modern dial, it would have lost its purity of function...and that is where i suspect we differ.

Jury will be out until this one hits the wrists.....
