Patek Philippe Annual Calendar 4947/1A
Hi everyone !
Sharing this 4947 Annual Calendar, which I got back in Dec 2023. Been so long since I posted here and I’m glad to be back here.
When I was asked if I were interested to buy this watch, I was hesitant initially due to the reference number suggesting it’s a ladies model in the PP catalog. But I love the blue Shantung textured dial and the thought of having another all steel PP bracelet watch interested me so I went to the boutique to have a look. After I tried it on my wrist, I felt the 38mm sized case is a perfect watch for both gentlemen and ladies and I decided to buy it!
Some shots to share since I got the watch. Last shot is a couple shot with my wife wearing this 4947/1A with me wearing my 5712/1A…. Yes my wife has laid claim to this watch from time to time lol! She likes it too.

Yes that linen dial and it’s blue shade caught my eye first!

I tried this one on back in 2021 and found the fit on the wrist perfect.
The bracelet is incredibly smooth too. I personally didn’t fully respond to the Shantung dial, but it’s just me. It looks great on your wrist, whether with or without sleeves and it looks great too on your wife’s wrist. Best, Emmanuel ...
Thanks! I have a friend who didn’t like the linen dial too
He likes everything about the watch including the blue shade on the dial except the shantung texture (somehow it reminds him of Grand Seiko textured dials he said lol). Glad you tried this watch for yourself in the metal too. It actually looks good on you...

I love your new Patek AC. The dial is exceptional. I've never seen a texture quite like it and didn't know the term "Shantung." You did well to jump on this piece. Thanks for sharing. M4
