The two Nautilus anniversary watches with diamond indices
Of the four references celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Nautilus, two feature diamond hour markers, and one of these two is completely unexpected.
Let's take a look!

A/ NAUTILUS DESK CLOCK REF. 958G-001 Limited to
100 pieces, this
unexpected desk clock merges the
design of the
Nautilus with that of the
Calatrava 8 days power reserve ref.
5328G-001, itself derived from the
Gondolo 8 days ref.
5200G-001.

Here are the
references 5328G-001 and
5200G-001 that I previously
reviewed here and
here.
Ref. 5328G-001
Caliber 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J
Ref. 5200G-001
Caliber 28-20 REC 8J PS IRM C J
The sunburst
blue dial features the
Nautilus's emblematic
horizontal embossing & white gold applied baguette-cut
diamond hour markers.

The
design of the
power reserve indicator and of the
sub dial with
day,
date and
small seconds is
identical to the original
Gondolo 8 Days.
The bow

The hinged
solid case back cover, adorned with a
sunburst-blue embossed dial pattern and a
satin-brushed Calatrava cross.

When the
back cover is
opened, the
clock stands
upright.
Caliber 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J (the
same as the one powering the
Calatrava 8 Days), is surrounded by a
circle bearing the
inscription “
50th Anniversary Nautilus 1976-2026 Patek Philippe”.
It is, of course, a way of “
hiding” the fact that the
32 mm diameter movement is a bit
small for the
50,65 mm case.

The
white gold case measures
50.65 x
13.5 mm.

two-part white gold case measuring
41 x
6,9 mm.

The
sunburst blue dial is
horizontally embossed and has
white gold applied hour markers set with
baguette diamonds.

The very
clean dial features only
two hands and
no date.
The navy blue fabric-patterned strap is made of a composite material.

The watch is powered by “ultra-thin” self-winding
240 caliber (2.53 mm in height) with 22K gold minirotor
engraved with the inscription “
50 1976 – 2026”.

The
thinness is
fantastic.

What do you
think about these
two releases? Do you
like them?
The desk clock is too quirky and hybrid in design for my taste: I much prefer the Calatrava or Gondolo 8 Days.
As for the 5810G-001, even if it is a luxury version of the Nautilus, I find it really appealing: no date, no seconds, no bracelet, great thinness, a lot to love for me – less is more.
Thanks for looking.
Best, Emmanuel
