Having seen such an enormous response to the vintage vrs modern thread, and on Nicolas's idea of examining what we like about modern Rolex.... lets ask what is your favourite modern (say last 5 - 10 years) Rolex, and why you like it. I'll kick off with na...

I have tried on SO many times and each time I reject, but it just keeps calling. I think the lugs are the issue for me. I wonder what i would think if i used a Nato. It is a crazy watch, and crazy is good often. Really surprised to see MV above the YM for... 

As for the lugs, on the MV, I do get what you mean... I had the same problem, and still have, by the way, but I can live with it. On a Nato, this is a Bomb, as the Nato corrects a bit the visual impact of these big lugs, which are truly too large for the ...

This is the watch that has maded the most of high expectations, people just were mad thinking about this watch prior of the launch, thinking if this watch will be the most highly collectionable since some Daytos (Orange dial), and so on... It were great e...

the Exp because it is the 36mm tool watch or tough watch which has understated design and no many realize its 'the' Rolex Explorer. The Sub well it is just a plain looking divers 300m with turning bezel, which is less exclusive looking than the FF and clo... 

As the first one I would name the YM. It is a very elegant watch with the platinum bezel and dial and the case is nicely rounded. The YM is a sporting watch which I can wear without problems also with any kind of business atire. But to be honest, the watc...

Rolex Yachtmaster II. The various mixtures of blue, red, and white color combinations all over the YG model looks fantastic and the ring command bezel is innovative. The Yachtmaster II has got to be the favorite modern Rolex. Regards, ED-209

You're absolutely right, the Dayto falls into the category, and I forgot it because I had the novelties in mind, and the latest one doesn't do nothing for me... But in SS, the Dayto is still the Dayto, I mean the ref 116 520. A watch which made a lot of p...

But I really don't like vintage Rolexes. I know, to each his own and I understand some people love to have a rare vintage watch or a whole collection. It is a watch with history and they just won't make a few thousand watches extra. So as for 'collectibil... 

It all depends on the condition, of the bracelet and the watch. I agree that a bracelet in bad condition gives a cheap feeling on the whole watch. But take a Vintage Rolex in superb condition, from the band to the case, without forgetting the dial and han...

It's truly an exceptional hunk of steel and certainly qualifies IMO to be a candidate.However, the weight & height may not work for some.

but these two are my current favorites: I love the bi-colour bezel(coke) and the easy to use GMT function of the GMT II The Milgauss GV - what has already been said and because it keeps great time(+1 sec in 3 days). It doesn't get magnetized unlike some o...  

classic, a character of its own, not a copy of the vintage model, a sportsy look....  

I tried this on in Hawaii and fell in love, the weight and the deepness of the blue is something to be desired. It is unlike any blue I have seen out there, the only blue that comes close in another watch IMHO is the Opus 6. Not my image, from Rolex...

Definitely in my radar. I have the money for it but I'm not sure why I'm not pulling the trigger just yet. It's my desktop pic for both my office laptop and my cellphone. I admit that the LV is the "handsomer" Milgauss. But I have a thing for white/silver...

The white Milgauss is a very underrate watch but pack no less substance. The center polish link on the bracelet have less visual impact when is on the white Milgauss. Strong with a touch of elegant. This is the model that brought me in to Rolex Universe. ... 

just sublime to look at....sporty yet elegant ,you can wear it on a beautiful beach and dress it up at night...the perfect travel companion.... A wild dream....will it make the ultimate modern chic coolness on a grey Nato? One for the Riviera...... Mo

two picks for me: -16610lv because of the maxi dial and teh fact that it commemorates the 50th anniversary of the sub -116520 because of the 4130 and in stainless steel with a white dial of course because it is sporty and elegant
