Rolex

The Y-series sub

The Y-series submariner (date).

Why I like it and wear it everyday....

Last tool watch before things got too bling:

1) Lug holes - mark of a real tool watch.

2) No bling bling RolexRolex on the rehaut (Doesn't this remind you of LV LV LV for Louis Vuitton bags?)

3) Modern enough to have the solid end-links.

4) Sapphire crystal that don't scratch like the vintages.

5) Gold markers and hands that don't oxidize over time like the vintages.

6)914L steel - to make it a better tool watch.

7) Modern 3135 movement. Given the volume out there, service will probably not be a problem for a long while unlike the older movement.

8) They don't make this anymore.

Can anyone tell me if this is the last submariner with date + with lug holes + no rehaut? If so, could be collectors worthy smile
