I prefer the one I saw, regular fluted bezel versus more stones. I do feel this reference is a bit of a sleeper.

My initial impression was actually that is was far more sparkle than I had expected. My comparison was previously seeing the rose gold 37mm Yatchtmaster with the pave dial. That watch, was more muted.

You have a point. However, where I live such a car comes with roughly $500-700 per month in parking costs, in addition to another $1500-2000 for insurance and then maintenance. There are somewhat cheaper parking options, but those come with other consider... 

wouldn't get one for myself. Definitly not an ugly watch in my opinion.

It is a nice hypothetical question for us though. In reality, not many of us could really pull this off, and fewer still could get any type of regular wear out of it.

I feel, at least among males, it has very limited appeal.

It is mostly one of those collector watches, although nowhere near as collectible as a rainbow Daytona or any of the other off catalogue pieces we have seen from Rolex. It would be cool to have. But maybe, it is just limited to that, “cool to have”.

…and sparkles, that is also where my head is at. Interestingly, as noted above and based on what some others have told me, the everrose version may be “better”. Although to me, I don’t see that.

I can see how the everrose version may be better visually; but then with that watch there is just a lot of gold in folks faces. And that’s fine, if you live in certain places. In most of the major world cities nowadays, one doesn’t want an all gold watch ... 

The dial is so brilliant that I believe the metal color doesn't really reduce the attention that much....

I’m also under the camp that I prefer precious metal Rolexes over their steel counterparts. I also wouldn’t stress too much about being afraid to wear it. Life is too short to worry about the extremely rare possibility that you might get mugged.

well, you know how that old saw goes. Objectively speaking, it’s a stunner. But I’m not sure it holds a candle to your buckley dial DD. But that’s just me not being able to wrap my head around gem set pieces. One thing’s for sure, you can rock that piece.... 

The Buckley is a great watch to have, but it’s in really great condition and when one has a almost 50 year old watch that’s is nice condition like that one becomes a little more hesitant to wear it regularly. And you’re dead right about the uncertainty. T...
