Well gents, after a rather epic 13 year wait, from the time a venerable old (no longer active) member known as 'DRMW' infected me with the '2011 Infinity bug', it is with particularly great pleasure that I present to you the completely bespoke traditional...  

It is truly worth every penny! The gun itself is around $6K, and I ordered another thousand or so in accessories....

...even at premium prices...

That's why I'd enjoy living in a state other than CA where I can buy bulk ammo at half the price of what it costs locally!

I am totally chuffed to bits with it. What can I say, I am such a staunch traditionalist when it comes to firearms - 1911/2011s and revolvers are simply the most beautiful firearms ever made, and when you take that form to its absolute apex, like in this ...

What you are effectively describing there applies to almost any luxury product category . I did promise myself I'd end up getting a bespoke suit at some point in life, it's just that I've almost never worn suits for work, so I haven't had a practical need...

Having a limited experience…competitive rifle, skeet and trap in college, I don’t know much about fine firearms. None of my Omegas are safe queens. They are all practical and all get at least some use. As a photographer I would always pick a Nikon slr ove... 

I actually had a Nikon DSLR myself, totally agree with you on that point. What you are asking is literally dead-on. Infinity and its sibling Staccato (formerly STI) both began as competition gun makers. One went more into unlimited production of pre-specc...

But they do offer a compact size custom gun that I would happily EDC, it's just not available to order in California, but since I now have family in Florida that can easily be constructively addressed.... The carry model is called Tiki - google some pictu...

They actually do make Commander and Officer size single stack 1911s, but the Tiki is truly the bespoke carry gun to get from them in my opinion ........

Given that I am myself interested in ordering a Tiki for concealed carry next, at some point in the foreseeable future. The first five pictures are of their Tiki pistol, being easily identified by the one of a kind front sight in the form of a central cha...  

Everyone of those are incredible. My current EDC is either the Springfield Hellcat or a Glock 43x because I like the safety in the trigger. Anyone of those would be a nice upgrade. Again, thank you for posting these! Regards, Steve

Especially with the orange accents! Being a doxa fanboy I love orange but may have gone for red in this case I'm curious about the shape of the trigger being square rather than round, what's the rationale if you don't mind explaining?

A Hermes-type color combo . Orange is my favorite strong color, it's been so since early childhood. They offer both curved and flat (or as you say squared) triggers. It's ultimately personal preference - theoretically it is slightly easier to achieve a mo...

It came out that he has 11, and that is just the Kimbers he has, he didn't say how many total he has but I know of at least a couple more.

There was a TV show where some 'professional organizers' told people what do do with their belongings. Anyway, the show was dumb, but one of those people did say one thing that stuck with me to this day - you don't really need anything that you haven't us...

Lots of new entries ever since the patent expired but SVI is still imho the absolute best. A shame most people will never see or experience something like this, it's like living in a world of boring family sedans not even knowing Ferraris exist.

Not sure about the firing pin hole but the breach face looks dirty hard to say if that's machining or dirt streaks. As for the trigger, I see nothing wrong. The hex is for over travel adjustment, may also be to hold in the trigger shoe in if this is two-p...  

That is one sublime piece of kit as well . I totally love the ported and comped slide, I presume this particular gun only serves for cutting-edge target practice .... Everything you mention here is indeed accurate, my images were all taken immediately fol...

of course, I am hyper eager to start shooting the gun regularly, it will definitely happen before the month ends. I will also take some images when I first field strip and clean the gun, but that's probably going to be after I shoot it for the first time....

Love it, some of your questions are exactly what I'd be interested in knowing as well! The firing pin hole and machining finish are questions I don't know the answer to by default, I will email them next week and ask. I did take note of the internal finis...

No misreading, the trigger bow is an actual part of the trigger, the gaurd is a part of the frame. Those aren't interchangeable terms. Keep digging!

I spent the bulk of the past day disassembling and fiddling with each component of the gun separately, and after cleaning out the oil/lube/grease residues it is clear to me that the machining on the surface of the components is nothing short of exemplary....  

Despite not yet having the opportunity to visit the factory in Texas myself is that each and every component is CNC machined from billet aluminum and subsequently finished and fitted by hand.... That's where the bulk of the $6-9K cost for these guns comes...

why they packaged the gun from the factory so excessively greased up. Perhaps it's an indicator of how they see it ought to be ran with grease and lubricants.... I cleaned it up, and reapplied lube to all rails and the barrel exterior itself, and added a ... 

really aluminium or did I mis-read it? If they are, I'm very surprised for one obvious reasons: its weight doesn't suit the recoil of the 1911A1 (Newton's 3rd Law) - it's just too light for a heavy-recoiling gun.

The slide, external frame and the wide grip are all actually made out of carbon steel, precisely due to the reasons you point out, I don't even think that they offer aluminum slides.... It's only the FCU key internal components that are machined billet al... 

Perhaps counter-intuitively, two perfect un-marked bearing surfaces can be difficult to lubricate, especially where high temperature & pressure are generated with consequent expansion. So, this may be why S-V slather their immaculately finished guns i... 

I haven't gotten to look at any titanium parts per-se, I know that they are particularly fond of making compensators out of titanium because it increases their longevity many-fold (relative to aluminum). I believe that they used to offer slides in titaniu...

Although it isn't much different to other bespoke 1911 makers, perhaps even less than some of the others, at least here in the US. By being sparse in optioning my own, I kept it close to the 'starting price' for one of their guns which I think is around $...
