My Panerai PAM1033 GMT is like the San Marino national football team.
In all the years I've owned the Panerai 1033 GMT she has never kept accurate time. One day it could be ahead 30 seconds, the next 20 seconds behind. Been to Panerai Texas service of course, twice, still not a good timekeeper. But she does weigh you down. So, how is the PAM1033 GMT like the San Marino national football team?
(Some humor and truth here, relax, it's a joke that kinda sorta true since the 1033 never kept accurate time, which is kinda the purpose of a timepiece, right?).
San Marino is one of the weakest national teams in international football, historically losing the vast majority of its matches and occupying the bottom of the FIFA rankings.
Key facts
All-time record: About 3 wins, ~11 draws, and over 200 losses in more than 200 matches, with almost all wins against Liechtenstein.
FIFA ranking: Frequently listed last or near-last in the FIFA World Rankings.
Goals scored versus conceded: Extremely poor goal differential across decades, scoring only a few dozen goals while conceding many hundreds.

Have spent to make the 1033 look good. OEM bracelet from AD, various straps, etc. It looks good, sure, but does not perform as desired. Like the San Marino team.
So there you have it, how the Panerai 1033 GMT here is like the San Marino national football team, as it is perhaps the worst timekeeper within my extensive mechanical timepiece collection. And that, my friends, is a rare showcase of the San Marino football team.
PS: The Panerai 1118 TRON, with a mystery movement that the company outright refused to tell anyone any details about, including members of the press who asked about the movement , when first released. It does keep relatively accurate time.

PS: If someone from Panerai thinks they can sort out this timepiece, am happy to send it in for a third time (under their warranty).
