Dear forumners,

PIAGET Boutique Mystery Location 2   (security guard is NOT waving at me none  )

Recently, I overheard two different people describe PIAGET with diammetrically opposite statements.

1) PIAGET makes mainly ladies' jewel-set and quartz movement watches.

2) Most of PIAGET timepieces are mens' mechanical movement non-bling watches.

Which do you FEEL is the truth?

I don't want to get beaten up in public.... Stefan, Sometimes, it is better part of valour is not to say anything when things are 'overheard'. hehehe OK -- I'm chicken. But not everyone in the street even knows what PuristS are...... Regards, MTF

Interesting statements... yet it seems that each speaker could use some Piaget educating. I think each statement shows an underappreciation for the brand as a whole and a failure to fully understand its various tallents. Piaget excells at making mechanical mens watches of the high...

Truth vs Dare dino, Indeed, the 'truth' about modern Piaget surprised me when I first heard it in 2007. MTF

Hmmm this is a great question indeed MTF 1) PIAGET makes mainly ladies' jewel-set and quartz movement watches. OR 2) Most of PIAGET timepieces are mens' mechanical movement non-bling watches. My opinion is, for the most part, people who are not familiar with horology will probably agree with abo...

Doesn't that go for most Swiss brands? When I'm not mistaken has Patek a very intresting business with the 24, is AP's Royal Oak for ladies also a lot of diamonds and quartz, and the same goes for JLC's Lady Reverso's. A lot of women still prefer a hassle free quartz-movement and like diamonds...

Piaget and Quartz movements Martin, You are correct in a certain way. Piaget is one of the three firms (with Rolex and Swatch Group) that are still members of CSEM, the laboratory that succeeded CEH (Centre Electronique Horloger). In 1969, Piaget took part in the manufacture of the ...

Isn't the truth somewhere in the space... ...between those two statements? I think the public perception is that Piaget makes blinged watches, and when you go to the Piaget Boutique (at least my local one) that perception is reinforced by what's on display. However, I know from their current coll...

PuristSPro's 2010 SIHH Live Reporting by Z3 Piaget 2010 Novelties In recent years everything has gotten bigger and bulkier. Perhaps with the recent economy, the brands have finally realized that human arms are not growing at the same pace as watch-dial diameters, and this race to grandiosity might have gone a bit overboard. This year, there are some refreshingly welcome signs that some brands are now shifting down a gear and focusing more on elegance. Piaget's main focus this year is their ultra-thin automatic movement 1200P and 1208P (with sub-second).
