maybe I'll give it a try... The right equation should be: 4a + 5b =16units where a=? b=? c=what kind of units?

EXCELLENT suggestion - you are on the right track... ... but what about if not all {a, b, c} are units? Some might be functional subgroups... Cheers, Magnus
