Welcome to the PuristSPro's newest forum, the WatchTech forum !

This forum is dedicated to developing understanding in how timekeepers work. We will try to be inclusive and include all timekeepers, from the earliest to the newest, from water clocks, through pendulum clocks, wrist watches and cesium clocks.
This is a big and fascinating world and although initially our main focus will be on mechanical wristwatches I hope we will be widening our horizons with time.
As the moderator on this forum I will be trying to instigate and motivate all the scientists and engineers along with the watchmakers and designers to help us in our quest for knowledge.
Please join in, we can all only profit.
And as questions are the door openers to new knowledge, please don't hesitate.
Don

It's Just a Tiny Screw Photos by Anna Yakutenok Text and on the lathe Don Corson What does it take to make a simple small part? Let's follow the making of a horn screw for the UFO-Tourbillon case. The lathe I will be using was made by G. Klett in East Germany in the late '50s. Here we see most of the tools I will be using, cross slide, tailstock, manual graver T-rest, a 2mm tap and tapping oil.
