Friends,

As The Watches & Wonders 2013 closes in Hong Kong, I can make a quick Hot Post with this iPad thingy!

Most of the novelties from SIHH 2013 were shown plus a few pieces like the concept prototypes ID-One and ID-Two. Of course the ID watches are not for sale and kept under lock & key but as a special treat for The Watch magazine and PuristS readers in Hong Kong........

none

none

Mystery Tourbillon

none

More turning from Cartier

none

Bewitching green eyes of La Panthere......

none

Croco plays a cameo role

none

La Phoenix does a turn

none

Exquisite brooch and watch-in-one

none
Happy shiny ladies with the masculine Cartier MC background

none

Why they were happy!

none

ID-One out of its security box and that was a very special gesture!

none

none

Niobium-Titanium alloy

ID-Two was also unleashed and some PuristS were weak at the knees.....

none

none

This was an impossible event......

Although the ID watches are not for sale, some concepts are transposed into the production models and here is one of them......

none

I like it when a dream becomes reality!

Regards,
MTF

The Watch magazine and PuristS were very appreciative Geo, In a culture of "face", the gesture was deeply appreciated; that we could actually see and hold (carefully) the 'impossible' watches. I have never seen them "out of the bulletproof box"! Thanks for your support. Regards, Melvyn

That really was a Hot Post I never expected to see a hands on with the incredible ID Two concept watch. This one blows me away, not just for its technical achievements, but also for the very cool vacuum sealed transparent ceramic case ! Looking forward to seeing something realized ...

Cartier Métiers d’Art Watch Collection 2013 part 6: Straw Marquetry Since Cartier decided to set up the Haute Horlogerie division, they have tried new techniques in both future technology and ancient skills to explore the possibilities of craftsmanship. On one hand, they are pushing the frontiers of mechanical engineering and on the other hand, they are reviving forgotten decorative arts like plique-à-jour enamelling, grisaille enamelling, straw marquetry, granulation and cameo.
