Friends,
let’s start with coverage of this year’s new releases from Girard-Perregaux at SIHH 2019. As usual, during the show, the booth is very crowded and you don’t really get time to deeply appreciate all the models nor do you have good natural light to take some decent photos.
However, live shots will always bring a better idea on a watch than press release photos.
So let’s start with one watch that has been released this year under the theme of „Earth-to-Sky“ from Girard-Perregaux. While not being a true novelty as we can easily see that it ist he same Neo Bridges from 2 years ago, it does provide a fresh update on this quite popular model.
Girard-Perregaux Neo Bridges Earth-to-Sky edition, Ref. 84000-21-632-BH6A sits (quite rightly) within the Bridges collection and has the same Reference number as the original Neo Bridges. In fact, it is the same watch and movement, also having a Titanium case. The Earth-to-Sky edition however, has a DLC coated black case and some blue colour theme within the indexes and the main barrel cover / automatic rotor. Overall, the main plate is darker / more black than the original Neo Bridges.
The black theme continues on the back side with the bridges having a black finish. Sorry, for the poor quality but the watches all has special stickers on the back that made shooting them not exactly easy.
It is no surprise that the wrist feel is very similar and the amazing micro-rotor still catches the eye a lot whether it is blue or silver.
I would say a good second version for the Neo Bridges that will find appreciation among buyers. It will be a matter of taste which version to get.
For me personally, I still prefer the original Neo Bridges as black cases are usually not for me.
So let us know what you think, are you a black watch type or more traditional?
Best,
CC
PS: we will continue our review of the GP Novelties well into the next weeks, so stay tuned!
