Wristshots taken in Luxembourg during Les Journées de la Passion event

Avatar

Les Journées de la Passion is a prestigious event organized by the Perini family which takes place every year alternately in Luxembourg and in Brussels. I attended the last two editions in Brussels so this year I wished to travel to Luxembourg to discover another flavor of the event. The purpose of Les Journées de la Passion is to gather around 40 brands in order that they can present to the visitors their latest collections. We are not at SalonQP or at the Dubai Watch Week: the focus is made on more classic .....">Story

Hands on review of the Parmigiani Toric Hemispheres Retrograde

Avatar
foversta
2017 is an important year for Parmigiani Fleurier as it marks the return of the Toric collection. After the Toric Chronomètre presented during the SIHH, here comes at the end of the year the Toric Hemispheres Retrograde. This last piece gives another proof of the potential of this collection inspired by the first watch designed by Michel Parmigiani. If from the mechanical point of view, it brings little novelties compared to the Tonda Hemispheres (only the date window is replaced by a retrograde date by hand), .....">Story

This time without any further ado...my brother from different mother...Zabreg1 Please enjoy D Before I begin to answer the questions, I really and truly want to thank this forum for accepting me and introducing me to a whole new world. I have truly found a ‘second family’ here and I am thankful for the friendships and good time I had so far with this amazing group of people. And to think, all it took was one faithful afternoon coffee and I was sold, .....">Story

Hands on review of the Pequignet Manuelle Royale

Avatar

2017 is a pivotal year for Pequignet. After the takeover of the company by 4 of its executives and the foundation of Pequignet Horlogerie, the brand must demonstrate to its partners and end customers that it is back with a renewed ambition, projects and a future. The most important ingredient in this context is the restoration of trust. Without trust, a retailer will find it difficult to commit his boutique with a brand...">Story

Hands on review of the Longines Avigation BigEye

Avatar
foversta
Sorry for this delay: I have just seen that Anthony published the press release of this watch and I realized that I totally forgot to post my review written in... September. One of the good surprises of the post summer period is the Avigation BigEye chronograph proposed by Longines. This watch, inspired by a chronograph of the early 70s, is in my opinion very successful because it manages to reinterpret the principle of an oversized minute counter (which explains the name of this chronograph), without any .....">Story

Overview of high frequency watches and calibres - contributions highly welcome

Avatar
KMII
For some reason I have gotten bitten by the frenetic sound and the romantic promise of high frequency watches - i.e. those beating faster than 28.800 vph. I started my journey in the topic with my Eterna Sevenday Fastbeat, which got joined by the Grand Seiko SBGH035 soon after and the Elprimero powered P15 more recently. One more joined in the meantime - on which more shortly...">Story

Hands on review of the MATWATCHES Naval Aviator

Avatar

It is a very nice surprise that MATWATCHES offers us at the end of the year with a new watch for the pilots of the Naval Aviation. This come-back takes place in a different aesthetic context from the first watch one, the UTC Naval Aviation. A few months ago, Jerry "Leekster" Leekey, pilot of the Naval Aviation asked his friend Fabrice Pougez, founder of MATWATCHES to release again a new series of watches following the success of the first series. It would have been easy to keep the same UTC base but Fabrice .....">Story

When the dream list is a nightmare... My missed targets.

A kind of masochistic list of pieces I missed all along these years of collecting watches. I prefer to warm you, it is a kind of horological horror movie. 1/ Panerai: Some 12 years ago, I missed some strong pieces from Panerai. The 6154 which was supposed to be offered to me...">Story

A pair of Longines Conquest reference 9000

Avatar

Friends, When we talk Longines, we often focus on the grails, the Divers, the Cal 13 ZN, Wheems, … Which is natural… But Longines have a long and rich history and this time I thought we should have a closer look on one of Longiens very iconic models, iconic, but maybe not with grail status… The Longines Conquest reference 9000: [Ad from 1959] Launched in 1954, iterated in different versions all the way into the 1960s. Started as a time only, automatic watch, over time different function was added. [Ad from ... ...">Story
