I know that you are eagerly waiting for the reports to discover with more details the novelties. I'm just back from Geneva today with thousands of pictures to sort, to edit etc... I propose you as a teaser my collection of wristshots of the 2013 novelties...  

The movement of the 1815 Rattrapante PC: Fx ...  

Lange was one of thev most interesting brand this year. The Grande Lange One, with the grey black dial, is a asuperb watch, as well as the 1815 QP Rattrapante, which is one of the winners, in my book. Not found of the Grande Complication as it is too big,... 

on a visual point of view. Nice moon phase but that's it. The dial has nothing really attractive. Maybe if they'd put the big date below "12". Don't know, just nothing really special about that dial, and it feels overcharged, but in a cold way. If only we... 

the double split PC is really stunning! How a pics can cheat us. I suppose that in the metal it must be even nicer

and the 1815 up and down are particularly nice. The "real" novelties are for the prestige (the grande comp) and to fill the offering (1815 split) on the high end spectrum. Nice is that there are quite some offerings also for the wider audience as the gran... 

that is not ready - the Grand (or shall we call it Huge ) Complication ? Was it 50mm?! Would have been impressed if it would be wearable. The 1815 Rattrapante PC looks interesting - at least from what I could see in the showcase outside the booth.

They are showing products to dealers, primarily (yes there is some public press, but that isn't the focus). I can see the rationale of showing a work in progress, in that context. Hopefully it won't take 4 years to finish, a la the JLC Mega Sonnerie.

an absolute marvel. Thank you FX for this shots, eager to see your reports ! From the different coverage I think Lange has done a great SIHH 2013 along with JLC, and Richard Mille. I also keep in mind Parmigiani with a beautiful Toric cathedral minute rep...

Doing something like that, is really damaging the image for me. It reminds me JLC which is quite bad when you want to compete with Patek or Vacheron. That said, I think Lange had a good SIHH overall with nice novelties. cheers Francois

I was in a group of people who had the opportunity to see it and we were not the only ones. Question is: what is the interest to show a watch which is not completed? The answer is easy: one full year is required to produce one single Grande Complication. ... 

You just deliver it when the first is ready, that's called honesty , towards the customer and the people you give the communication. You know that such a complication can need a lot of time to be fully working. If I didn't expect great things of Lange I w... 

Your way of thinking is right for a normal watch but with this kind of watch we are out of the box. First of all, you can trust Lange: if they present the watch, it will work. Second point, only 6 will be produced. In the meantime, you need to choose the ... 

choosing 6 collectors. I feel for the people in charge of this for sure. Even the 200, 100, 30 and 15 piece LE's were hard I am sure. 6 people?!?!?! That will be very difficult. What a great position for Lange to have more than 6 that will spend that kind... 

Your explanation of the rationale behind presenting the GC is very sound and I agree Fx. My question now is how the Lange team will decide who the lucky 6 will be (and in which order?) Frequent posters here have stated before that Lange does not play the ...

That is not very serious, and it is not what I expected from a brand such as Lange. IF the proto was not working. I mean that we don't expect Lange to unveil a definitve watch. There may be some aesthetical and mechanical changes on the definitive watch ,... 

I would like at this stage to kill a false idea because I start to read some strange comments which surprise me a lot. Lange didn't show an empty case: the watch was running and was striking. Even the foudroyante was running. The watch was NOT completed, ...
