Your way of thinking is right for a normal watch but with this kind of watch we are out of the box.
First of all, you can trust Lange: if they present the watch, it will work.
Second point, only 6 will be produced.
In the meantime, you need to choose the 6 happy customers and of course, the position of these 6 customers in the delivery. Good luck for the guys in charge of this selection of customers. Believe me, it is better to have time to handle this process before the first delivery. Timing is right... and I must say "usual" in the world of ultra-complicated watches.
The main problem brought by this piece will be the frustration it will create amongst some big Lange collectors:
- if they have more than 6 orders (and they will have)
- due to the final positions of the 6 customers.
I think that a lot of psychology will be required.

that is not ready - the Grand (or shall we call it Huge ) Complication ? Was it 50mm?! Would have been impressed if it would be wearable. The 1815 Rattrapante PC looks interesting - at least from what I could see in the showcase outside the booth.
SIHH is a trade show...
They are showing products to dealers, primarily (yes there is some public press, but that isn't the focus). I can see the rationale of showing a work in progress, in that context. Hopefully it won't take 4 years to finish, a la the JLC Mega Sonnerie.

Doing something like that, is really damaging the image for me. It reminds me JLC which is quite bad when you want to compete with Patek or Vacheron. That said, I think Lange had a good SIHH overall with nice novelties. cheers Francois
