You and I typically prefer white metal iterations and I had the opportunity to see the ethical white gold piece during my last visit to the boutique:

It’s another fantastic release by Chopard IMHO! Unfortunately, as you and Patrick stated, their aggressive pricing of their pieces is challenging to justify!

Outside of the large case, the enamel dial, the watch is a two-hand watch with one hand changed as an hour jumping display. While a jumping hour is innovative, it's not something I feel justifies a major increase in price. So, I definitely see some people...

I've seen both versions...while the RG version is sober and classic - given a chance, the one I would pick is the black enamel white metal version
