Horological Meandering

I really need a nice simple watch...

1.  I realize I want a nice simple watch that is easy to set and elegant.  Preferably in white or rose gold.  My daily watch has gravitated away from the Patek Philippe and other complex watches towards simple watches.  I'm even getting lazy nowadays because I don't want to have to set the date on any of my watches (especially the ones that require a pusher to set the date).  My default watch is a Jaeger-leCoultre Master Ultra Thin in steel.  I would love to own something like a 40mm Lange 1815 in white gold.  That'd be an awesome timepiece; top movement finishing, top quality, and an elegant design.  It'd work in a weekend casual setting (I call this Brunello Cucinelli mode) and in a business setting (suit and tie mode).

2.  Then I also see a new watch with this cool and funky modern design...  Oh, I want one!  I can justify the need for one too...  I do need a sporty and architectural type watch.  Totally justified.  I haven't bought this watch since I see some quality issues...  But I know I'm going to talk myself into it sooner or later.

3.  And lastly, I also see something I just want to support, a great artist or brand I just want to support.  MB&F, Roland Iten, or a wood marquetry artist whom I happen to like.  Sometimes it's just about supporting an artist you really like...  I knock on their door and say, "I want to be your patron!  Let's chat about your philosophies!" and the rest becomes history...
