Horological Meandering

Very little these days...

It has to be the perfect storm...
Insanely collectible...
Iconic design.
Or what about something new that you fall in love with in 5 seconds... but need to wait for it to become avail pre-owned, because you know it has resale value of a tin can...? Chuckle...so you wait...even though you are madly in love..

If it is a new vision and design.. like a mind-boggling indie of jaw-dropping design... you my be awestruck... but have to ask... if I buy this... can value rise from here? If not, does that matter to me?

People council... that value may not matter, they say go from the heart... and that is valid...

But to go from the heart, you better be in a lasting zombie-state of love... nothing less! Or suffer the consequences...

I have bought watches that no one believed in at the time... in such a zombie level state of love... and they have been the most satisfying... so there's that. If you truly feel something that makes you swallow harder and feel you might shed a tear... (I mean this seriously) then BUY. Just shut up and BUY. I bought my all time favorite watch of my life this way, when no one believed... so there's that...

If it's something easy like a Rolex that ignites emotion... ask... do I care about another Rolex? They are virtually all 'the same' in design, except Cameron?
If a lower priced watch like Seiko diver, let's say... it's easier to just indulge and think of it as harmless fun...

But generally, it takes a perfect storm these days... iconic design, white-hot collectible... and that special something... that X-factor emotional spark.

With all that said... I am like a marble statue right now... you can not make me emotional enough. I am buying nothing.

But I allllways have my eyes open, and I alllwayyyys have my plans... the perfect storm...
