Hi Alex,
...but as I read it, the question raised was more "that it's possibly "based" or "derived" from a JLC movement.
I think there's little doubt that the work is exquisite and very elaborate - and going in detail as far as only very few others ever did or do.
What's interesting for me is, where would a similar discussion go if we would speak about a "normal" manufacturer......?
I remember well what happened when IWC for example launched their Ingenieur, speaking of a new in house movement and later
got outed as having used the going train of an ETA 7750 -( not that this movement could be comooared to PD's Simplicity movement by any means though).
Of course it's also completely right to point out the limited options one would have to design a classical 18'000 handwound movement with small seconds at 6. But, there are a lot of movements with this configuration out there - but still they are different - in so far that wheels and pinions have different dimensions, pivoting point distances are at very different dimensions,.......
Beeing very closed/similar in that dimensions (i.e. pivoting points/distances) for example, at least has some meaning to it, in my book.
Best regards
Suitbert
