I would say it's a little more like the Aston branded smart car. It's a collab, a different thing, no speedy buyer is mistaking this for a moonwatch...

 

Which is different from Coach making something that looks the same only cheaper. I've spent time with Coach on the discount and luxury sides and there was a healthy push and pull between full price and discount. Truthfully, the discount side made more money and was more profitable, we were moving over $2MM / hour online and that was in the iPhone 2 days, so we knew the challenges that would present to the brand but we also needed to balance long term brand equity and short term revenue. This might have tarnished the brand a bit today in the US but they have no problem positioning the brand highly in China.
This swatch release is different, no swatches are cannibalizing speedy pro sales and no one is mistaking a bright colored plastic case swatch for a stainless omega.
