So far, I've had a chance to try the 5230 and the 5327. Loved the feeling of the first, I go back and forth on the second. Obviously, have not had a chance to try the 5236. (Also, at least one person here appears to have it, and I heard it is trickling in to ADs...).
I guess you and I might have a difference of opinion on seeking the thoughts of others. Frankly, I value the insight provided by other people on this forum, and such insight helps me to inform my own opinions. At base, I am an information gatherer. And perhaps I am seeking some level of affirmation, and a perspective different from my own. Further, there are numerous persons on this forum who have been in my shoes, and have purchased a number of Pateks (and other watches since then), and I truly enjoy listening to their thoughts and comments. I'm still a ways away from this purchase, and very much in the research stage of my purchase.
As far as my AD, in an unfortunate turn of events, the manager who I had a strong relationship with ended up leaving in a fairly bitter departure. I'm close personal friends with him, and there are certain SAs at my AD who still hold a grudge against certain of his customers - or at least appear to. Further, I am certainly a small customer - I bought my engagement ring there, one of my watches, and my wife and mom's Cartier. And normally buy my wife jewelry from there. Nonetheless, when I asked to be put on the list for a no-date sub, I was turned down. I don't know, the whole AD thing feels a little helpless to me.
Finally, I am remiss to say that I do not have any inheritance to speak of. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

I would make the exception and get both the world timer and new perpetual, I really like 5320G as well but might be going against your blue dial choices.
