Rolex has been very mainstream for many decades. But Patek Philippe is a more recent phenomenon as it's now very familiar amongst the general public, not just the more affluent general public. Signor Armani is definitely correct in many ways. The word "luxury" is so overused it's almost become a meaningless word. A bad word for some. A trigger for others. And yes, it is strange that these rappers that portray these odd and excessive lifestyle (often to a humble audience) seem to enjoy so much prevalence in much of the world.
