Thanks, all, for the great comments and discussion. Not to beat a dead horse, but do you think there is room for the Lange 1815 in the discussion? Does anyone have any thoughts to how it compares with something like the 3919 or 3796 (or anything with the cal 215 for that matter)?

A nautilus has become my daily wearer but out of then my 5712 seems to be most comfortable and versatile.

Agree with all the above.............go with a Nautilus or Aquanaut. Or possibly a pre owned Calatrava date, such as the 5107 or 5127

Or the 5119 if you want a bit more presence. But I fear the 5119 might be already too costly as you are saying "not to break the bank". A well looked after 3919 is on the secondary market an affordable piece to get. Regards Moritz
